Sales Grit Meets Self-Mastery

PROMISE OF THIS COURSE FOR INSURANCE SALES PRODUCERS

This course will help you do more in three months to advance your most important goals – with a greater sense of joy/peace - than you have experienced in the last three years. And it comes with six months of support, and a 100% money-back guarantee.

If you do not see progress in the first 45-days of your journey, I will refund your entire course fee.

Based on behavioral science, you will learn how to ignite focused-action to navigate roadblocks and accelerate both sales and personal goals in highly targeted bursts.

Based on neuroscience, you will learn how to apply a mindfulness practice to experience greater resilience and peace of mind in the face of self-doubt, anxiety, stalls or setbacks.

You can start right now, right here with your free orientation call.

“One client project alone is on track to generate $250,000–$300,000 annually across multiple components.”

“The pipeline looks a heck of a lot better now, and I’m focused on winning rather than just competing.”

“My pipeline has never been better—over a million dollars in revenue opportunities, thanks to more intentional prospecting and follow-up.”

Your Results From The Course

  1. In your sales world you will see a stronger pipeline, better opportunities, and more deals.

  2. In your personal world you will accomplish any goal you set in the four realms of living: health/wellness, psycho/spiritual, mental/intellectual, social/relational.

  3. In both worlds you will experience greater peace of mind and outcomes simultaneously.

  4. You will waste less time, and cultivate greater focus, discipline, and energy.

How Are These Results Possible?

This course delivers the tools (knowledge, skills, and technique) and the support (accountability, coaching, and companionship) to navigate your goal pursuit more confidently and successfully than you ever have before.

Every desire you have, be it business or personal, has the same accelerants and obstacles rooted in just two domains: the inner world of your mind, expressed as self-talk, and the outer world of behaviors, expressed as habits.

Goal pursuit, therefore, requires your focus on both the inner and outer world simultaneously.

You cannot expect changes in your outer world, which manifest as actions and results, without changes to your inner world, which manifest as beliefs, thoughts, and emotions.

"Before the class, I was just going through the day, chasing my tail. After the class, I can stop, breathe, reset, and take control of my day.

The biggest shift for me has been the ability to regroup and reset—it's kept me on track better than ever.

I love the ‘dog on a bone’ mindset. I now stay persistent and get deals across the finish line.

The tools to reset have changed how I approach every day. No longer is one misstep enough to derail me."

Dan Dreher

“I’m healthier, more focused, and more energized—working out regularly, balancing family time, and approaching my day with clarity.”

“I’m hitting my goals earlier and more consistently, both professionally and personally.”

“This program helped me be intentional with my time, not just manage it. Now I get things done when they need to be done, without frustration.”

How Does The Course Work?

Like a waltz, this course provides that simple, universal rhythmic structure of 1-2-3, 1-2-3.

Your 1-2-3, is regularly scheduled solo-practice, team-huddles, and personal support, week after week after week, for three months until you arrive at your destination, followed by an additional three months of unlimited support to assure stickiness, or accommodate any setbacks.

Like a waltz, only the tempo changes from participant to participant. Your individual goals, pace, and process are uniquely your own.

Upon registration, you get:

✔️ Access to all ten modules, plus the bonus materials for your self-study, including all printable templates and tools for your daily usage.

✔️ Calendar access and meeting links to join regularly scheduled, twice-monthly group-coaching calls.

✔️ Calendar access and meeting links to participate in twice-monthly, open-office hours for your semi-private coaching call.

"After working with Sheldon, I became intentional about everything I do in my day. It’s no longer just busy work; it’s meaningful, focused action that drives results.

The most powerful shift for me was taking an honest look inward. I realized my biggest block was time management—not because I didn’t know how to manage time, but because I wasn’t being intentional with it. Now, every action has purpose, and I hold myself accountable to my own standards.

Since the program, my pipeline has never been stronger—over a million dollars in new revenue opportunities. I’ve closed deals I’d been chasing for months, just by reaching out to old centers of influence with renewed confidence and clarity.

The smaller class size was a huge win. It created real conversations and honest accountability. We could call each other out, learn from each other’s experiences, and build genuine connections that continue beyond the class. It wasn’t surface-level—it was real growth.

I’m mentally sharper, physically stronger, and more in control of my time and energy. The only thing that was holding me back was me—and that’s no longer the case."

John Hawkinson

“Having a script and intent before reaching out to my network made me more confident and effective in conversations.”

“Taking an honest look inward was the biggest shift for me. I realized my own blocks and learned how to overcome them.”

“I’ve written business I would have let slip away before. The class taught me persistence and follow-through.”

What Lessons & Support Do You Get?

Remember the “How Does This Course Work” section above? This course structure is like a waltz. The 1-2-3, consists of solo study, group support, and semi-private coaching. Here’s how it breaks down.

The Solo Work

You get unlimited, lifetime access to ten course modules, plus bonus material, to accelerate your goal pursuit. These are on-demand, self-directed, video lessons that include the teaching, the tools, and guidance for personal practice.

After the first three lessons, the remaining course modules are self-reinforcing but not sequential. You can consume the lessons in any order you wish, as often as you wish for as long as you wish, based on your present moment experience.

The Group Support

Your group-coaching benefit is like a multitool available to you twice a month, for six months.

You get the shared accountability, peer support, insight, and fuel that comes from a professionally facilitated, coaching call. Consider it like a team huddle that gets you fired up and focused. We always start and end on time.

Also included is anytime-access to a private community room where you can collaborate with and get support from peers on a similar journey.

The Individual Support

This is where you get one-on-one attention to help you with ANYTHING. Every month I hold open office hours to help you integrate lessons, strengthen resolve, deepen skills, and push through blocks.

Any topics sent 24 hours in advance become the focus for that week’s coaching call.

If you don’t share anything in advance, you can still join a semi-private call to tap the power of small-group wisdom with individualized attention.

What's The Cost In Time & Money?

You must be willing to make three commitments to assure you accomplish the goals you set throughout this course.

1: You must be willing to sign a Pledge to Standards of Effort that embody a growth mindset

2: You must be willing to invest $5k knowing you get a 100% refund if you don’t see measurable progress in the first 45-days of your six month journey.

3: You must be willing to spend six months, the first three of which are intensive, the last three are reinforcement.

1. Do This First, Always. Your Daily Systems Check

Personal growth begins not with goal-setting but with self-awareness. Before defining ambitions, you will learn how to “look in the mirror” through a daily reflective practice centered on four interrelated questions. Feel, Do, Assess, Reflect—acts as an ongoing systems check for your mindset and behaviors, especially during moments of stagnation or doubt. This reflective practice will be your cornerstone for personal and professional progress.

2. Mindfulness 101

Learn to balance your outer world of actions and goals with our inner world of thoughts and emotions. You will quiet the constant chatter of the mind and become aware of the voice of your inner coach and inner critic so you can respond wisely to both. As your mindful attention grows, your self-criticism shrinks, and intentional actions will advance any goal you set.

3. Set Goals Here

Learn to set goals that are big, challenging, and deeply personal—chosen not to impress others, but to improve your own life.  Using the “Wheels of Life” exercise, you will assess satisfaction and importance across five life domains to reveal where your efforts can have the greatest impact.

4. What Should I Do Next

This orientation module invites you to explore the course with flexibility because growth is personal, dynamic, and non-linear. You will choose lessons based on what you most need at any given moment, rather than following a fixed order. Every module focuses on key areas of professional and personal development—building sales grit, strengthening accountability, reducing anxiety, balancing discipline and self-compassion, finding flow amid ADHD, recovering from setbacks and crafting effective self-affirmations to reinforce confidence and combat inner criticism. This module helps you navigate the course at your own pace, selecting the guidance that best supports your unique journey.

5. How To Strengthen Sales Grit

Here you’ll find a 7-step self-diagnostic tool that allows you to take a hard look in the mirror and determine exactly where you have to study and execute. This in turn will help you maintain daily accountabilities, avoid overwhelm, and manage competing priorities. Like THE DAILY SYSTEMS CHECK in module one, the SALES GRIT ACCELERATOR functions in the same way: You take high-level scan of critical systems, seven in this case, and then dig deeper to gain a foothold that accelerates your sales results.

6. How To Strengthen Accountability

This module introduces a five-piece accountability tool kit designed to help you get and stay on any target you chose in this course. It’s likely you're familiar with all five pieces of my accountability toolkit, but in this module I’ll tease them apart and demonstrate how you can tie them back together for stronger accountability.

7. How To Reduce Anxiety

This is a great module if anxiety is something you experience with any regularity. If you don’t, I’d say skip it. But in my decades of coaching, I’ve seen anxiety be a frequent companion for many salespeople and leaders even when sales are strong. Anxiety often creeps into our lives irrespective of revenue flow and brings with it a damaging effect on our pipelines, our prospecting, and the pleasure we take from our work. In this module, you’ll learn a four-part framework for managing it.

8. How To Suck It Up

You can think of this module as a tightrope walking lesson between two extremes: ease and rigor. This polarity always appears in our goal pursuit, and the more difficult the goal, the starker the contrast.  Do we suck it up and push through our resistance, fear and aversion, or do we cut ourselves some slack, relax and postpone. You can think of this as the grit/quit or ease/rigor polarity and it’s one I’ll help you straddle in this module. Here you’ll get a five-part formula to ease the tension between your inner critic and your championship coach.

9. How To Find Flow Amidst Your ADHD

Like the module on reducing anxiety, this may be one you choose to skip because you don’t struggle much with ADHD or ADD. If that’s the case, perhaps it could be useful to you as a way to support others. In this module I dissect the clinical definition of a FLOW state and use its component parts to flip ADD on its head, so it becomes DDA, or Dynamically Directed Attention.

10. How To Reset & Recover From Any Failure

This module will help you navigate the inevitable delays, distractions and misses in your goal pursuit by understanding three elemental truths about setbacks: ̓ They are inevitable, They force resets, and  They leave debris. How we stall, why we stall and when we stall are important questions to gain life-enhancing insights but pale in comparison to the question of how we reset. In this module I’ll teach you the same four-part framework I use to coach myself, sales people, and student athletes how to reset a busted play, a broken rhythm, or a loss of any sort. I call it the 4Rs.

11. How to Use Self-Affirmation

Your final module is a bonus lesson on creating and using self-affirmations as a source of strength. For decades I always thought self-affirmations were a bunch of crap. And it turns out they are crap—unless you frame and use them properly. Your inner coach speaks in affirmations - your inner critic dismisses them. This module gives you the three simple rules you’ll need to craft your own powerful affirmations when your inner critic is hissing in your ear and getting in the way of your joy and your goals.

Why Can I Trust This Author and Coach

MBA, Army Veteran, Author, Energizer & Sales Coach

I am my own laboratory.

You can trust me because I’ve spent decades making many thousands of cold calls, follow up calls, and sales calls. I’ve crushed quotas and know the peaks of high income, high praise, and high life. I’ve also been crushed by quotas, been fired four times, and know the depths of doubt, debt, and despair.

I know what it means to hunt and be hungry.

I’m a fourth-generation, airborne-qualified U.S. Army veteran. I’m also an Alpine Certified Level 2 ski instructor and certified white-water river guide who has taught thousands of people how to do both. I know what it’s like to be scared.

I’ve sold advertising, leadership development programs, econometric impact models, web- design services, corporate-travel services, financial services, consulting services, IT outsourcing, and my own sales coaching seminars.

I know what it means to try, try again.

I spent a year leading scuba excursions for a startup in Mexico, another year coaching adjudicated teens in an Outward Bound–style prison program, and another year as a high-ropes instructor in a leadership-training facility.

I know what it means to face inner demons.

My ADHD emerged when I was eleven years old and I finally mastered it 40 years later. I’ve had a regular mindfulness meditation practice for 30 years. I’ve pursued couples and individual psychotherapy with six different clinicians. I’ve worked with three sports performance coaches as an adult and I have dedicated my career to keeping other people fired up.

I know what it means to maintain discipline.

My adrenaline sports pursuits have left enough scar tissue from lacerations, punctures, tears, breaks, and surgeries to stitch a quilt. I’ve competed internationally on grand- masters-level ultimate-frisbee teams and have had podium age-group finishes in grueling mountain-trail races. I raced in four triathlons during my inaugural year, won an Olympic-distance state championship in my second year, and in my third year raced against the country’s elite in the USA Triathlon Age Group National Championships.

I know the jubilation and tribulation of family life.

I’ve lived in ten states, four countries, and on two continents, ultimately settling in New England where my wife and I raised two human beings into conscientious and contributing adults. One earned an Ivy League education and the other a Fulbright Scholarship along the way.

I know the power of belief.

Though Catholic, I helped my Jewish wife create the first and only Reform Jewish synagogue in Florence, Massachusetts. I also built the local-high-school ultimate-frisbee program including a scratch girls team that became nationally ranked in five years.

I know love.

And, as if all that had not prepared me for the achievement of a lifetime, I cared for, cried with, caressed, cajoled, cooked and cleaned for, coached, and carried my wife through seven hellish years of her titanic struggle with a brain injury. We celebrated her complete recovery during a five-month sabbatical abroad whereupon I finished my book, The Anxious Salesman, A Field Guide.

I know I’m a work in progress.

And I can still be judgemental, ill-tempered, self-doubting, and clueless.

The Anxious Salesman: A Field Guide: How to Transform Your Inner Critic into a Championship Coach

In this incisive and relatable book, sales author, speaker and coach, J. Sheldon Snodgrass delivers a pithy yet profound resource to wrest control from the noisy chatter of your inner critic—its siren songs of rationalizations, justifications, or flagellations—and replace it with the uplifting dialogue of a championship coach who meets you where you are and fires you up to win the day.

Drawing upon his time in the trenches as a soldier, sales rep and coach, entrepreneur, and competitive athlete, Sheldon combines autobiographical insight—distilled from thirty years of sales calls and journal entries—with ancient wisdom and clinical research on peak performance and human potential.

The result is a humorous, wise, and practical field guide that any sales professional can use to transform their doubt and anxiety-spewing inner critic into an inner coach pumping them up to be disciplined, focused and successful.
